Oh Summer, you arrived so slowly and are departing so rapidly that I barely had a chance to get to know you. We had just made each other's acquaintance when all of a sudden I find myself facing the reality that Labor Day is quickly approaching. I always have this feeling that I didn’t do enough to capitalize on the summer. For example, yet another year has gone by of me not trying to de-throne Joey Chestnut as the Hot Dog Eating Champion of Coney Island. I just had so many events happening in between family, friends and this blog that it was hard to work in time for training.
I don’t want to sound like a big baby whiny pants, so I’ll segue here into a more positive outlook. There are two things that I really look forward to in September. The first is, as you would guess, starting to wear transitionally-appropriate outfits like this button down and skirt. As far as I’m concerned, leather and chambray are the clothing equivalent of a Reese’s peanut butter cup…two great tastes that go great together.
The second super exciting thing that September brings with it is the beginning of college football season, and I’m a ride-or-die University of Georgia alumni. Undoubtedly, you’re asking yourself “Self, how does this relate to this outfit post?” Well, thanks for asking because I’m going to be using my new Mansur Gavriel bucket bag all season to show my school pride by sporting the Red and Black. And with that, I’ll leave you with a “Gooooo Dawgs! Sic ‘em! Woof, woof, woof!”
